| THE DETAILS:
Our next bus and walking tour will retrace the remains of three long closed branch lines, each which had their own distinctive purpose - Warwick Farm Racecourse (closed 18 August, 1990), Rookwood Necropolis (closed 1948) and the two major bridges which once formed part of the Anzac Rifle Range line to Moorebank. Parts of the Rookwood branch have recently been uncovered, including some of the former cemetery stations, and member John Oakes (author of "Sydney's Forgotten Park Railways") will point out various items of interest relevant to the history of each of these unique branch lines.
Our vintage mode of transport will be 1957 series Leyland Worldmaster Royal Tiger single-deck bus 3095. We will depart Sydney Terminal at 11:00am, with a pick-up at Strathfield Station. A short lunch break will be held near Liverpool Station. We intend to return to Sydney Terminal at approximately 5:30pm. You can alight at any point on the return trip on request to the driver.
